The Agro-Region Group of Companies continues to support initiatives for the professional retraining of veterans within the educational program “Procurement in Agriculture”, implemented by the All-Ukrainian Center for War Trauma Superhumans in partnership with the educational platform Kultyvariy.
The in-person workshop became possible thanks to the support of Mercy Corps.
Today, as part of a new cohort of participants, Dmytro Tarasiuk, Director of Procurement at Agro-Region, held an open class at the Kyiv Cluster dedicated to the fundamentals of procurement operations in the agricultural sector.
“We are glad to see more and more veterans and their family members taking an interest in the field of procurement. This profession combines analytical thinking, responsibility, and a strategic mindset, and the agricultural sector is an excellent environment for developing these skills,”
— noted Dmytro Tarasiuk.
The meeting served as a summary of seven video lessons on the procurement function within agribusiness: its role, responsibilities, interaction with other departments, and key processes essential to effective purchasing.
The Q&A format helped address any remaining knowledge gaps. Together with the “students,” participants conducted a real tender for fuel procurement, had a brief overview of procurement process management in the BAS electronic system, and took a tour of the company’s internal agri-production infrastructure.

Most importantly, the event demonstrated that today’s agricultural sector is a high-tech industry — featuring the latest automation across all processes, a developed infrastructure, modern comfortable offices, and a qualified, motivated team.
“I was pleasantly surprised by the number of questions and the overall engagement of our guests. We even had to adjust the program a bit, and still didn’t have enough time to cover everything I had planned. This shows the participants’ strong interest and motivation — and it’s truly inspiring, because you feel that your work genuinely makes a difference,”
— added Dmytro Tarasiuk.
The Agro-Region team is proud to take part in projects that support veterans in acquiring new professional skills. We look forward to joining future initiatives and programs that help develop the potential of the agricultural sector.
