GRAIN MOVEMENT

In the Agro-Region Group of Companies, the process of grain movement from the field to the elevator is automated. Combines, trucks, and grain carriers are equipped with GPS trackers, BLE/RFID readers, and a grain unloading system labeled as “own/foreign,” which prevents grain loss due to human error. The dispatch center monitors the grain movement process around the clock, promptly responding to any deviations. The system automatically records the weight of the harvested grain, indicating which combines participated in harvesting and on which fields.

AUTOMATION ELEVATORS

The company operates with grain on three of its own elevators. At one of them (the Borispol elevator), a system for automating the movement and control processes of grain across the elevator’s territory has been implemented: the driver receives an RFID card through the system and moves with it. The system provides guidance on where exactly to go and what to do. This minimizes human error and reduces the number of mistakes at all stages, streamlines document flow, and increases the elevator’s throughput capacity. The system also allows determining how much time each stage of elevator processes takes for further optimization. Plans for 2024 include automating other elevators of the company.

PLANT COUNTING

The ML system was developed at the request of the company’s production director. With the help of this neural network, plant quality can be determined from photos taken by drones, including the number of plants, their distribution, distances between plants, density, and other interesting and useful factors that affect yield. Like any neural network, it needs to be trained, which is done by agronomists in the company, among other tasks.

LAND LEASE MANAGEMENT

The development of an in-house system for quick analysis and decision-making regarding the utilization of a crucial resource for any agro company – land – took several years, given the complexity of the task, and is still ongoing. The company has implemented a land lease management system with all the necessary analytics, the ability to track lease payments through various methods, regulatory accounting, management reporting, integration with state registries, payment systems, and mapping.

DIGITALIZATION / AUTOMATION

For the successful operation and scalability of the company, the described, optimized, and preferably automated processes are required. Agro-Region is actively working on this task – more than 20 important processes in the company have already been described, automated, and are functioning successfully. Additionally, a system for electronic document signing and storage based on the “Document.Online” platform has been implemented, and integration with the most popular similar systems – “OnTime” and “Medoc” – has been configured.

STARLINK & PON

After the start of full-scale invasion, it became clear that communication, just like electricity, is not an optional feature, and we always need to have a backup plan. All company departments are equipped with Starlink, and PON technology is used in wired internet where possible. Additionally, communities in need are provided with internet from Starlink, and “unbreakable points” with internet and generators have been established.

CHATBOTS

The company actively utilizes chatbots (tender, logistics, etc.). This is a very convenient tool since smartphones are always at hand. Chatbots are used to coordinate payments, generate reports, conduct tenders, and interact with the company’s clients. For elevator clients, for example, a chatbot has been created to provide all the necessary information autonomously.
