The spring planting campaign at the Agro-Region Group of Companies has passed the halfway mark — over 60% of the corn area has been sown, and sunflower planting has surpassed 40%.
This was reported by Chief Agronomist Yurii Lysak.
According to him, thanks to timely soil moisture retention practices and proper field preparation, there is sufficient moisture at the depth where corn and sunflower seeds are placed.
“Unusually high temperatures in April accelerated the early emergence of sunflower. Typically, sunflower sprouts appear on the 10th to 14th day, but this year they emerged on the 7th day,” adds Yurii Lysak.
He also emphasizes that the planting is progressing within optimal timeframes.
