As part of the international Field Agroconsilium project, the Agro-Region Group hosted over 90 participants at its facilities.
“In addition to independent experts from various countries – the USA, Canada, Germany, New Zealand, and others – the event was attended by cluster managers, representatives of the company’s agronomy team from the central office and regional branches, partners, and other project participants,”
noted Chief Agronomist Yuriy Lysak.
According to him, the independent experts highly appreciated Agro-Region’s approach to crop cultivation technologies.
“During the visit, three different production fields were inspected, each with high, medium, and low yield potential. For each of them, we received recommendations on how to improve our technology,”
said Yuriy Lysak.
In particular, the main advice was to continue balancing the key nutrients in the soil, while also paying attention to micronutrients that may be lacking, especially in sandy soils – such as copper, boron, and manganese.
The experts also highlighted and gave recommendations on how to increase organic matter through the sowing of cover crops and the application of organic fertilizers.
“Regarding tillage, wherever possible, we should continue to reduce the intensity of soil cultivation and transition to more conservation-oriented technologies. The no-till system that we are implementing can become a truly effective tool on our sandy soils,”
summarized the Chief Agronomist.
