Agro-Region plans to increase grain exports by an additional 60,000 tons per year

The Agro-Region Group of Companies has received 25 hopper wagons, two loaders, three semi-trailers, truck scales, and generators under the USAID project “Economic Support for Ukraine” grant program. This was reported by the company’s press service.

Specifically, the USAID project’s assistance in purchasing 25 hopper wagons allowed the company to leverage its own funds to invest in an additional 15 wagons, bringing Agro-Region’s total to 40 grain carrier wagons.

Having a fleet of 40 grain carrier wagons will enable us to increase grain exports by at least 60,000 tons per year. The support of international partners is important for our company, and we are ready to jointly invest in new projects to develop Ukraine’s export potential. Today, we are considering not only investments in logistics but also other projects—expanding elevators, processing oilseeds, biogas, and dairy farms,” notes Agro-Region Group’s Investment Director, Taras Ivanyshyn.

Additionally, the USAID project provided truck scales, which will significantly reduce loading and unloading times. Around 100 farmers from whom the company purchases grain can also use the scales for free.

As part of the grant program, two JCB 541-70 telehandlers were received for handling bulk fertilizers and grains, as well as three MEGA semi-trailers to expedite the transportation of the harvest.

Recently, the USAID project delivered two powerful generators to the Agro-Region Borispol facilities. These, along with generators purchased by Agro-Region, will help maintain the autonomous operation of the elevator (storage, drying, and shipping of grain) even during blackouts.
