Agro-Region is testing zero-tillage sowing for rapeseed

In the near future, the Agro-Region Group of Companies plans to purchase seeding equipment for the No-till technology.
This was noted for AgroPortal.ua by the company’s chief agronomist, Yurii Lysak.
“Right now, we are testing zero-tillage sowing for rapeseed. The issue is not yet fully resolved — we are experimenting and learning. It’s important to have not only the technical solutions, but also a clear understanding of the technology, how to work with ‘zero’. And the most important factor is that high-quality sowing begins with the harvesting of the previous crop. For this, it’s necessary to have a combine that ensures proper shredding and distribution of residues across the full header width, which allows correct residue management,” he emphasized.
According to him, plowing in the company remains on about 20% of the land: on clay soils and on fields where rapeseed is grown.
