Agro-Region Automates Its Grain Elevators

The Agro-Region Group operates grain across three of its own elevators. At two of them — Boryspil and Myropillia — a full automation system has been implemented to manage and monitor grain movement throughout the elevator facility. At the Zavorychi elevator, similar upgrades are expected to be completed by the end of the year.

This was reported by Vadym Yanchuk, the company’s IT Director.

According to him, the automation system significantly increases the throughput capacity of the elevators and minimizes human error.

“Every grain truck driver must register in the system before entering the elevator premises and receive an RFID card. This card functions as a pass at every stage — from entry to weighing, loading/unloading, and exit,” he explains.

Vadym Yanchuk also notes that no more than five trucks can be present on the elevator territory at the same time, and the system automatically monitors this.

“In addition, the system can generate automated voice calls to guide drivers on where they need to go, if necessary,” he adds.

Thanks to this system, the company is also able to track how much time each stage of the elevator process takes, allowing for further optimization.
