In the 2025 agricultural production season, the Western cluster of the Agro-Region Group will increase its corn acreage by 61% compared to the previous year, reaching 3,500 hectares, which will constitute 36% of the subdivision’s land area.
This was noted by cluster manager Yuriy Stepanchuk.
He also mentioned that winter wheat acreage is planned to increase by 7% to 1,600 hectares (17% of the cluster’s total land bank), and winter rapeseed will cover 1,500 hectares (16%), which is a 9% increase from last year’s figure.
“We plan to sow 1,600 hectares of soybeans (17%), which is 43% less compared to last year. Additionally, sunflower acreage will be reduced by 45% to 1,400 hectares (14%),” stated Yuriy Stepanchuk.
According to him, the previous years’ saturation with oilseed crops, changes in agricultural product prices, and export opportunities are leading the company back to a traditional crop structure. This approach will allow for effective crop rotation and optimal use of available technical and human resources.
