This was stated by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Aivaras Abromavicius, during an investment session at the 16th International Conference on “Doing Agribusiness in Ukraine.”
“We continue to invest in gradually increasing our grain elevator capacities and updating our fleet of vehicles and agricultural machinery. The year has been challenging, not least due to climate-related difficulties. However, thanks to the professionalism of our production team, despite the 40-degree heat, we successfully completed corn harvesting with a yield of 9.4 tons per hectare in net weight,” he noted.
At the same time, Aivaras Abromavicius emphasized that for a medium-sized company like Agro-Region, it is risky to independently engage in large-scale investment projects such as building a biogas plant from scratch, as the project budget can differ significantly between the initial calculation and the final stages.
“Such risks are very high, which is why war risk insurance must definitely be implemented for such projects,” he concluded.
