At Agro-Region, the first stage of fertilizing winter crops has been completed.

In the Agro-Region Group of Companies, fertilization with ammonium nitrate and ammonium sulfate on planned areas of winter wheat and winter rapeseed crops has been completed.

According to the chief agronomist Yuriy Lysak, the condition of winter crops is good, with wheat entering the tillering stage, and rapeseed beginning to elongate the stem.

“The autumn-winter period was favorable in terms of precipitation, and rains also occurred last week, so the crops are developing well. Of course, temperature fluctuations (day and night) that we have had recently affect the crops, but not critically. However, the development of crops is proceeding as planned,” says Yuriy Lysak.

He further explains that leveling of autumn tillage and completion of soil treatment on land plots that were not processed in the fall are currently underway in the company’s farms.

“In the coming days, we plan to start fertilizing rapeseed crops with potassium-ammonium sulfate (KAS),” clarified the chief agronomist.

The Agro-Region Group of Companies plans to start fieldwork on April 10, but everything will depend on weather conditions, specifically the rise in temperatures and warming of the soil at the seedbed depth to optimal levels for seed germination.

Yuriy Lysak specifies that the company does not plan to sow fields with early-sown spring crops. The plans include sunflower, corn, and soybean cultivation.
